Staff Spotlight: The Spring Forward Van

Spring Forward is immensely fortunate to employ over 125 passionate, caring, and valued staff every year. However, one essential (and not-so-human) resource sometimes goes overlooked: the Spring Forward Van!

Seven years ago, our organization's dream of acquiring its first van became a reality, made possible by a generous grant from the Rock Island Rotary and vital support from the Doris and Victor Day Foundation. This essential vehicle has been moving mountains ever since. We keep it so busy (especially over the summer) that many people wonder if we have a fleet! More than just transportation, our trusty van is an Experience-Maker. It drives students to and from Programs, assures access to tutoring, brings student meals, has made over 200 trips to swim lessons, and even helps students get to school!

From exciting Field Trips to everyday program access, the van ensures kids get opportunities and experiences they might not otherwise have. We are so thankful for this tireless, four-wheeled colleague and to Rock Island Rotary and the Doris and Victor Day Foundation for making it possible!
