Spring Forward Development Director
Title: Development Director

Schedule: Full Time; 30-35 hours per week (Flexible)
Primary Function:
The Development Director drives the creation and implementation of the annual fundraising plan in close collaboration with the Executive Director, managing the donor database and full grant calendar.
This role guides sponsorship initiatives, supports marketing campaigns, and participates in special events and annual committees to strengthen Spring Forward’s financial strength, community engagement and organizational visibility.
Key Roles (Essential Job Responsibilities)
Fundraising & Donor Management:
Lead in creating and implementing Spring Forward’s annual fundraising plan in collaboration with the Executive Director.
Lead grant application process, including initial drafting and collaborative refinement
Manage donor database (Bloomerang), ensuring data accuracy and timely gift entry
Administer the gift acknowledgment process, including writing and sending thank-you letters and receipts.
Maintain current lists of active and prospective sponsors, donors, grants and deadlines.
Coordinate meetings, deadlines, and project timelines related to development activities.
Maintain fundraising calendars.
Assist with check processing, deposits, and financial tracking for development activities.
Research prospective grant opportunities and new funding sources.
Support donor stewardship.
Engage with the community to develop new donors and supporters
Seeks out and develops new ideas to build the organization’s financial strength
Maintain secure records for login credentials and technology instructions.
Coordinate reports for funders, stakeholders, and the Board of Directors, as needed.
Sponsorship Development
Develop, lead and execute a comprehensive corporate sponsorship strategy plan.
Cultivate and steward relationships with current and prospective corporate partners to ensure long-term retention and engagement.
Proactively maintain and expand a prospect list of businesses and community sponsors.
Create and manage an outreach calendar to ensure timely and professional engagement with all potential sponsors.
Work with Marketing to draft, design, and present compelling sponsorship materials tailored to specific organizational needs.
Event Coordination:
Collaborate in planning and execution of fundraising and community events.
Assist with event logistics including communications, exploring and securing vendors, volunteers, and promoting ticket sales and event registrations.
Contribute to securing auction items.
Marketing & Communications:
Contribute to and assist in managing Spring Forward’s Newsletters, Fundraising Appeal, Social media presence, and Website content.
Assists with publicity and communication efforts to raise community awareness.
General Professional Responsibilities:
Communicate positively, respectfully, and effectively at all times.
Contribute to and guide your own workplan, meeting all stated deadlines.
Participate in staff meetings and training opportunities.
Follow and uphold all protocols as described in the Spring Forward Employee Handbook.
Skills/Knowledge Required
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience in Development/Fundraising.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Computer proficiency in Google Workspace, AI, Canva, and Mailchimp
Familiarity with CRM/fundraising databases (Bloomerang) preferred.
Strong attention to detail
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding donor and financial information.
Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects independently.
Flexible and adaptable; able to problem-solve in a fast-paced, energetic environment.
Positive outlook and professional demeanor with donors, volunteers, and community partners.
Willingness to take feedback and make appropriate adjustments.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
