Creative Energy Soars during Fall Intersession Programs

Spring Forward/RIMSD’s Fall Intersession programs were a tremendous success, with more than 100 students participating in new and creative opportunities designed to help scholars explore new interests, talents and skills.
Rock Island Center for Math and Science (RICMS) was transformed into a performing arts center, hosting the "Act Out Loud" Theater program that included sessions led by Journey Live Production's Curtis Lewis, improvisational comedy with ComedySportz, and the always engaging movement brought by Royal Drama Dance.
At Thomas Jefferson, creativity took a hands-on approach with A'Jreem Beauty Bar and Jamika Mayfield hosting “The Braiding Blueprint.” The program saw students build confidence, while gaining creative, real-world skills they can use for self-expression or even future entrepreneurship.
Rock Island Parks and Recreation also energized students during the break with programs that built skills and fostered teamwork, including Soccer and Beginner Swim Lessons at the Rock Island Fitness and Activity Center.
Thank you to the Rock Island-Milan School District staff for your continued partnership, and to all the families who joined us. We’re thrilled by the enthusiastic response to these new offerings and proud to provide students with meaningful opportunities to build confidence, express themselves, and uncover talents they never knew they had!
