About Spring Forward Learning Center

Spring Forward Learning Center (SFLC), was originally created as a mission project for Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church in Rock Island and now operates as a not-for-profit organization. SFLC provides a safe, supportive learning environment for children from the Rock Island-Milan School District. SFLC now has three campus locations; Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church, Rock Island, First Presbyterian Church, Milan, and Frances Willard Elementary, Rock Island. Children participating in the SFLC program are enrolled at The Center for Math and Science, Eugene Field, Thomas Jefferson, Ridgewood, and Frances Willard Elementary Schools. SFLC has the ability to serve up to 120 children.

Program volunteers include retired nurses, educators, health managers, journalists, as well as college students and other professionals who together have more than 500 years of experience working with children. These volunteers donate more than 3,000 hours every year to support this nonsectarian program.
